Comparison Sites

It’s a fairly constant battle not to get ripped off… The growth in comparison sites is simply down to the number of competing suppliers since privatisation.

It’s not so much that one company does a better job than another and so can offer a cheaper price, more that you can get a better introductory deal with almost anyone, except the supplier you’re with.

By looking to switch, you become a new customer - liable to get a good deal. Once they’ve got you and your direct debit, and you forget about it, then the package price drifts up over time and is undercut by new deals.

They want you to be an old faithful (lazy) customer - so make yourself into a new customer…

Broadband Comparison

It’s exactly the same for your broadband package - new customers get the better deals, loyalty is a great thing for the telecom companies, but a bad thing for you…
